Joined OPG in February 2011 as Station Manager bringing over 20 years of operational management and engineering experience in the pulp & paper and construction materials industries. Raised in Northwestern Ontario with a B.Eng (Chem.Lakehead) and MBA (Athabasca). Accountable for the safe reliable operation and maintenance of a 211MW single unit thermal station, which ran on coal from November 1985 to September 2012. Atikokan Thermal Generating Station (ATGS) achieved commercial inservice on July 24, 2014.
OPG is proud of the fact that the Atikokan Biomass Conversion (ABC) will be the largest 100% biomass fired electricity generating station in North America. Redeveloping, not only this publicly owned asset, but starting a local supply chain with the commercial contracts for two new pellet plants to fuel the station. As Senior Manager of Business Development my role is to promote sustainable generating solutions.
